Quilt Shops & Sightseeing

What a lovely way to begin our journey around the quilt shops.  Weaver's Dry Goods was set in open farmland.

You could have spent the entire day in the shop as it was so big and had so much fabric to ponder about.

I would have loved one of those big metal stars for my shed but they wouldn't fit in my suitcase.
We visited three other quilt shops that day.  I lost track of which one I was in.
It was fantastic.

We all went on a Buggy Ride to Paradise.  Caleb was our driver and he told us a wealth of information about the Amish culture and way of life.
The trees in the photo on the right are in an area called Paradise.

The farmland was beautiful.  Gently rolling hills and very green.  But very cold when the wind blew as there was nothing to act as a wind break.  Some of the photos were taken through windows and so have a reflection, apologies.

We visited an Amish House Museum.
Notice how the sewing machine on the right has a battery beneath the table to run it.
The white apron on the blue dress denotes that the girl is single.

We were very lucky to be able to take a class with Jinny Beyer called Colour Confidence.
Her studio is in Great Falls, Virginia.
It is part of an Artists' Village and is a beautiful setting.
So it was a wonderful trip packed with lots to do and see.  Thank you Charlene and Brian.

Bye for now.
